Mark Richter

Career Path

Mark has always had a fascination with transportation and aviation. After completing a degree in industrial engineering, he immediately enrolled in graduate school to obtain an MBA in Aviation with an intention to work for an airline. About two weeks into graduate school, the events of September 11, 2001, occurred and opportunities with airlines became limited due to the downturn in aviation.

Mark switched his focus to airports and accepted an internship in Ricondo’s Chicago office. During his internship, he was quickly engaged in airport planning projects. After two months in his internship, Mark accepted an offer for a consultant position.

With support from Ricondo, Mark completed his MBA and was reimbursed for his tuition. After spending four years in our Chicago office, Mark moved to Denver and opened the Ricondo Denver office. After nearly two decades at Ricondo, Mark has been involved in planning some of the largest airport development projects in the United States and in Europe. These work experiences have allowed him to gain invaluable communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

In addition, Mark has grown as a leader through assigned roles within the company and externally as a task and project manager. Some of this work has also provided opportunities to travel and live internationally, which has allowed Mark to gain a global perspective of both airports and living abroad.
